Vampire Knight Season 3
I don't really know if this is true, but the LaLa company received a petition for a Season 3 and they approved. This person I got this from said its going to be next year, but they should have received a petition for Season 3 already considering the many petitions that was made for a Season 3.

I don't know when next year, but I'll check up on that in the official site and/or hakusensha.

[Edit]

Opps... really sorry for that, but it's just a rumor. T_T

Sorry, but it's just a rumor. D:
I'm sorry to rain on the parade, but this is as untrue as all the other similar rumors before. ^^;;

First of all, petitions and other requests are not really taken into account by companies in Japan. At all. (Some companies even treat those as harassment, though that's more rare cases.)
Only DVD sales numbers are taken into account, because those are the real numbers of people who would actual support the production of such a thing rather than people watching for free on TV or elsewhere, which you can never be sure of with petitions. ^^; They can't take the risk to base such decisions on petitions.
(Making and marketing anime is a costly business, and it's been a market in crisis for a long while even before the current international crisis, so no one wants to take risks unless the sales are certain.)

Secondly, the anime situation for VK is currently pretty much dead in Japan.
So dead that they have announced they were closing down the VK anime cell-phone site last month, and they're currently in the process of removing the main official VK anime site (normal online one, not-cellphone version) out of its dedicated place (that was created when the anime first started) and moving it to a smaller sub-site inside the company site, not anymore in the place with its own domain name or anything (anime sites are left in place for a long time so that people can still see the info and the extra stuff, blogs etc. etc. in case they buy the DVD later, but from the looks of it, no expense is being put into it.)

So you can see that it's pretty bad... :X

If there was more anime coming, they certainly wouldn't be closing down official sites.

And lastly, not only there's not even enough manga material as of now for a season 3 anyway, but the rumor that the person told you claims "LaLa approved it", when in truth LaLa magazine has no power whatsoever over taking such decisions. ^^;
If anything, it would have been NAS, the company in charge of the anime, but certainly not LaLa, who doesn't has that kind of power.

If we support the series and actually buy stuff regularly (official releases, manga, DVDs etc.), than there's a chance that one day there might be more anime, in the form of an OVA or something, but there's no season 3 coming out next year, sorry. ^^;;
The petitions don't change anything in this, what matters is pruchases of official VK stuff and that alone. ^^;

Besides, if such a thing was true, it would have been announced in the official places like LaLa magazine and the official site and all. I check the magazine and all the sites regularly, and re-checked just now, and there's no season 3. ^^;

If any such things had been announced, you can be sure I'd have run to tell the fandom, no matter how buried in deadlines and stuff I might be at the moment. ;) So rest assured that if one day more VK anime comes about, you can be sure I'd be running to tell everybody as soon as the news come out! :D

but it is so awesome why~~~~~~~~ ;___; we definitely should get a season 3, but instead things like naruto and bleach keep going /lesighs. shojo anime just doesn't get any appreciation.

I know what you mean, it's sad how shounen always outperforms shoujo. ;-; Even a popular shoujo is so much smaller than a shounen. T-T

Re: Sorry, but it's just a rumor. D:
In Japan, many people use their cellphones to browse. But not all websites show up well in cellphone browsers. So, in order for the potential customers to be able to visit the potential product site from their cellphones, companies tend to make a normal website for people going online with their computers, and a different site (generally same contents, just different compatibility) for people using the cellphones.

The phone site got closed last month. The "normal" (as in, PC) website will move to a smaller new location next month.
